Hi, my name is Anissa M. Wardwell. I'm a 17 year old Senior at Mt. Pleasant High School, my favorite subject is Science, and my favorite color is blue! In my free time I enjoy playing Volleyball and riding horses. I am now in my second year of Varsity Volleyball, I play as an outside hitter. My favorite television shows are Pretty Little Liars and Criminal Minds, and my favorite movie is "The Inception." I have an older brother named Allen, he is 18 years old and plays Football for Alma College.
Anissa tends to enjoy reading when she finds a book that interests her; typically that doesn't happen! Anissa learned how to read at a young age while she was attending daycare and throughout kindergarten. During these years the daycare supervisor and teachers would read to her small children's books. Anissa improved her reading as she got older by continuing to look into books that caught her attention at first sight. Anissa strongly believes that all people learn to read in similar ways; whether it's their parents and people around them reading or reading things that interest them! Anissa thinks that people read for many different reasons; these reasons may be because they have to read for a class or they feel like books are a way of exploring new ideas. In order to be a decent reader she feels that the reader must be interested in the book that they pick up before they start reading it, they must be able to understand the text, and they must read thoroughly and re-read to make sure they are not clueless as to what's going on! Reading tends to be easier for Anissa when she is enjoying the book that's being read; reading is not something that she keeps interest in! Anissa thinks that the hardest part about reading is finding a book that she's going to stay interested in. Before Anissa chooses a book she reads the summary of the book to decide whether or not she will keep interest in it, she also looks at the cover page to see if it looks presentable! Anissa does not read very often, the only times she reads are when she is assigned to or is requested a good book to read. She feels reading is a good exercise for the brain and it's a good vocabulary builder! Reading, to Anissa is something that others should do if they have a lot on their mind and need to be taken away.
