What did you learn personally during week seven?

This week I've learned that while you are assigned a group assignment you should always choose wisely with who you decide to work with. When you choose who to work with make sure it's not going to be someone who is going to slow you down but speed you up during the time you have to work.

 I've also learned that I am very fortunate to have so many people around me to help me with my work when I'm struggling and to give me needed knowledge to complete assigned work. Being in a classroom with not only one but two teacher plus some students from Central has helped me greatly not only this week but throughout the first six weeks also! 

I feel like this week flew by very quickly and that I've accomplished a lot more than I would've ever thought I could in one week. During week seven I've realized that if I work hard even though I have other group members who don't necessarily work up to my pace that I will benefit more from it than they will because I'm the one who's getting the job done and trying to accomplish as much possible within the period of time we are given to accomplish it. 

What did you learn during week 6?

During week six we continued reading our books that we chose to best answer our question and working on our group presentation! While doing this I learned that while working in a group you have to keep everyone involved and focused unless you want to be the only one doing the group project. I also learned that while working in a group you have to have patients and work to your ability while doing your part. I believe that I'm benefiting from this group project a lot because I'm learning to have patients with my fellow group member and I am learning to be a hard worker not only for my groups benefit but for my own! In the end I'm hoping to finish with a good presentation and enough knowledge to earn a decent grade on the essay that follows.

How was my participation in the learning process this week?

This week I believe that I participated very well in everything we did! When we had to choose a book that best matched our big question I read through the whole introduction of each and every book and made my decision based off of the book that best fit the question I chose. After choosing the book that best fit my question I read the pages I was assigned to read in class and finished what I needed to while I was out of class, this way I wouldn't get behind everyone else. I made sure after reading I did my Reading Response: Literature Log every day it was assigned. Other than participating in reading my book and doing the logs I also participated well in class when Mr. Schoenborn or Mr. Deshaw started class off with a poem and did other classroom activities!

What were the main causes we learned this past week?

I feel like I've learned a lot of new things throughout this week! I learned things from how to be confident in my writing and open all the way to how to make a video. Before i started taking English 12A I was never confident with what I wrote about, I was always insecure and concerned as to what people would think about my writing. When we started to create our own "This I believe Essay" and put it into a video for the class to see was when I realized that everyone has something to share regardless of what it was about and that I shouldn't be embarrass with what I had to say. Up until this week I had never in my life made any sort of video but learning how to use wevideo made me understand how to make one. 

What were the main ideas we learned this past week?

One of the biggest things we worked on in class during the first two weeks I think was helping me learn more about myself and how to be a better, more advanced writer and express my feelings in my writing. The activities that we did to help me with expressing my feelings while writing taught me that its okay to be myself, get personal, and to be open with my thoughts while doing my work. I think these things have made me a better writer already because I definitely feel more and more comfortable while writing papers in class.
